Casting Paper
Casting Paper or mold paper is used in the casting of plastics that are to be embossed with a textured surface. An example would be PVC cloth for imitation leather. It is also used for casting blocks of polyurethane as required principally in the furniture and automotive industries.
Casting Paper has a release finish, which may be of the silicone type. Cheaper substitutes, like PE-coated unbleached kraft paper, are employed depending partly on the formulation of the plastic mix. Casting Paper has a grammage of about 150 g/m2.
